FESN 2025

Dear FESN Council Members, dear colleagues,

As you may already know, the FESN can no longer award the Cortex Prize, and we were informed of this only recently. To ensure we continue celebrating young scientists in neuropsychology, the SAB has proposed the creation of a new FESN Prize. We are aware that time is short, but we are eager to provide this opportunity at the upcoming FESN scientific meeting in Leipzig (September 4–6, 2025). Please take note of the following timeline:

  • February 21st: Deadline for candidates to submit their applications to their national society (an up-to-date curriculum vitae; contact details including an email address; a picture in jpg format; 1-3 papers as pdf as an example of their scientific work)
  • March 4th: Deadline for you to send us the name of your selected candidate (executivesecretary@fesn.eu) with their application and a letter of nomination signed by the representative of the national neuropsychology society. The letter should include a compelling statement clearly articulating the reasons for supporting the candidate.

The winner of this prize:

  1. He/she will be invited to give a keynote address at the FESN scientific conference
  2. The FESN will cover the conference fees and travel costs of the winner.

Each national society is responsible for deciding internally how to select one candidate from the received applications. This timeline will enable the SAB to review all proposals between March 4th and 14th, after which the winner will be announced (mid-March).

Here you will find detailed information about the FESN Prize: https://www.fesn.eu/activities/FESN-prize/

We kindly ask you to share this opportunity as widely as possible among your members (see the file attached) and organize the review process for the applications within your national society . A newsletter dedicated to the FESN meeting, including information about the prize, will be sent shortly.

Thank you for your support.

We wish you all a very pleasant end to the year and a wonderful 2025.

We look forward to seeing you at our extraordinary meeting on January 17th.

On behalf of the Management Committee,

Angela Bartolo - FESN Executive Secretary

INS Award

This is Christian Salas, chair of the INS Awards Committee. I am launching a campaign to gather nominations for the INS NOLA meeting (February 12-15).

https://the-ins.org/meetings/new-orleans-2025/

I am contacting you since you are listed in our database as a representative of a Neuropsychological Association or Society.

INS awards have as a main goal to recognize the work of colleagues who have contributed to the research, academic or clinical development of the discipline at a global or regional level. INS Awards can be a powerful tool to boost the development of neuropsychology over the globe, particularly in developing countries and underrepresented geographical areas.

In that context, I would like to invite your Association or Society to promote these awards amongst your members. You could help us by a) passing this information to members of your association or society, or by; b) directly nominating people that you consider have contributed to the field of neuropsychology globally or locally.

In case you are not familiar with the awards, details can be found here
